Hazard Mitigation Projects
ODAPM provides a comprehensive mitigation strategy for prioritizing projects, programs, and activities that aim to save lives and reduce losses from the impacts of natural disasters. The Hazard Mitigation Program is based on a partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for mitigation planning purposes. The plan ensures federal assistance to the people of American Samoa following future significant disasters and allows the American Samoa Government to compete for federal mitigation program assistance annually.
